Siemens and SAP announced a strategic partnership on July 14, 2020
As part of this partnership, the two industry leaders intend to combine their complementary software solutions for product lifecycle, supply chain, and asset management.
With this collaboration, both SAP and Siemens will be able to offer their customers the first truly integrated and improved solutions for product lifecycle management, supply chain, service, and asset management. Customers will be able to link all their virtual models and simulations of a product or asset with real-time business information, feedback, and performance data throughout the entire lifecycle, creating end-to-end traceability through cross-enterprise business processes.
The know-how and technology of both companies will be used to create a digital thread. This helps companies to eliminate process and information silos, drive digitalization, and deliver a comprehensive solution for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).
In other words, SAP will offer the Siemens Teamcenter software as the basis for product lifecycle management (PLM). In return, Siemens will offer the SAP Intelligent Asset Management solutions.
The aim of the partnership is to maximize business value for customers over the entire product and service lifecycle and to enable new collaborative processes between manufacturer and operator.
