More automation: avaTCConnector enables data exchange between Teamcenter and other applications

Our avaTCConnector is an open and powerful interface for Teamcenter®, the established product lifecycle management (PLM) solution from Siemens Digital Industries Software. It has been specifically designed to connect Teamcenter with other applications and enable direct data exchange. The avaTCConnector can be used by any company that uses Teamcenter.

From manual to automatic

The avaTCConnector creates the basis for automation in the Teamcenter environment. It facilitates direct execution of work steps that were previously carried out manually between two applications, which leads to increased efficiency in day-to-day processes.

  • Data migration: The avaTCConnector allows data from other applications to be stored in Teamcenter.
  • Data availability: Data from Teamcenter can be made available in other systems through the avaTCConnector, e.g. data transfer from Development to Production.

Application example: automated PDF upload to Teamcenter

With the avaTCConnector, PDFs can be uploaded directly into a Teamcenter object. Five steps (log in to Teamcenter, search for right revision, create new revision, attach PDF, start workflow) are reduced to just one: upload the PDF with corresponding ID in the file name to the upload folder. The user doesn’t need any Teamcenter knowledge, as the process is started via the network drive. Plus, waiting time in Teamcenter is also avoided.

Individually adaptable

Customer-side developers can use the avaTCConnector to integrate their applications into Teamcenter independently – a major advantage that provides flexibility and autonomy. If support is required, the avasis unity team is on hand.

  • The avaTCConnector is based on the popular REST communication standard, which builds on existing and widely used web standards. This means that new standards or frameworks aren’t needed, which in turn enables efficient and easy-to-understand communication.
  • The avaTCConnector delivers fast start-up times and high performance, can be seamlessly integrated into cloud platforms and is readily scalable.
  • Thanks to an intelligent release process, the avaTCConnector also supports new Teamcenter versions in the shortest possible time. Concerns about compatibility after a Teamcenter upgrade are a thing of the past.
